Public Education Award
Cst. Ariane Muirhead has been a member of the RCMP since 2009.
Cst. Muirhead has advanced understanding and education about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder inside and outside of Saskatchewan. She has raised awareness and funds. She created an environment where PTSD is more openly discussed by “First Responders”.
The work done by Cst. Muirhead has raised awareness and the profile of PTSD. In doing so she has also helped to reduce the stigma and makes it easier for “First Responders” and others to seek assistance when facing PTSD.
Cst. Muirhead participated in the “You are Not Alone” video that was viewed across the country. She has also been front and centre in the media promoting PTSD awareness and understanding.
The Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police is proud to present Cst. Ariane Muirhead with the “Public Education Award”.
