Staff Sergeant Bart Leach
of the Regina Police Service

With the

Lifetime Achievement Award

Staff Sergeant Leach is a 33 year member and is currently the longest serving Staff Sergeant with the Regina Police Service. Presently he is in charge of the Street Crimes
Unit and has led the Regina Police Service’s stolen auto strategy with great success. Under his leadership, stolen auto rates have decreased in excess of 60 percent.

By incorporating a collaborative approach to property crimes and robbery offences he has been able to increase monitoring and enforcement of repeat offenders. This has led to a 26.5 percent reduction in robberies and a 49.8 percent reduction in break and enters.

Staff Sergeant Leach was instrumental in developing the robbery and coordinators positions in the Criminal Investigations Division. This has resulted in a higher numbers of convictions along with increased levels of oversight and clearance rates.

In addition to these contributions, Staff Sergeant Leach’s lengthy service has seen him  serve on patrol, canine, major crimes, street crimes, crowd control, school resource officer, and driver training units to name only a few. It is evident that Staff Sergeant Leach has served policing well and for an extended period of time. The Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police is proud to recognize his service with the lifetime achievement award.
