The Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police is proud to present
A/Sgt. Anthony MacKinnon of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police "F" Division
Excellence in Performance Award
A/Sgt. Anthony MacKinnon has been a member of the RCMP since 2005.
He assumed the role of “F” Division VIP coordinator just prior to the 2015 Federal Election. In the months that followed, A/Sgt. MacKinnon coordinated eleven visits from dignitaries representing the Government of Canada and the three major political parties including: four visits from former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, one visit from our current Prime Minister, two visits from Thomas Mulcair, as well as visits from his Excellency the Right Honorable David Johnson, Governor General of Canada, former Prime Minister Paul Martin, and the former Minister of Public Safety the Honorable Steven Blaney. The visits involved sights throughout Saskatchewan, with some taking place in July in northern Saskatchewan at a time when much of the north was on fire and resourcing was particularly challenging.
Coordination of such visits involved the mobilization of hundreds of resources and called for excellent leadership, operational expertise, teamwork, and dedication to duty.
A/Sgt. MacKinnon demonstrated Excellence in Performance of his duties as VIP Coordinator throughout a very challenging period. He worked cooperatively and collaboratively with National Partners including NHQ Protective Policing, the PMO, executive representatives of the PC, NDP, and Liberal Parties of Canada, local representatives of partner organizations including the Government of Saskatchewan, the Regina Police Service and the Saskatoon Police Service.
The Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police is proud to recognize A/Sgt. Anthony MacKinnon with the “Excellence in Performance Award”.
